No picture will be sold with exclusive world rights, but further sales of a picture will be conditioned by the previous sale, and exclusive rights of a temporary nature can be agreed.

Created a new style of book illustration, lead British artists into the profession, 1973.

Conceived, designed and illustrated numerous books for Dorling Kindersley Ltd., Eurobook (Peter Lowe) Ltd. and Macdonald Educational Ltd. ofLondon, 1974-80 Produced a series of reconstruction-paintings on “The Evolution of Early Man” under the direction of Prof. Bernard Wood.

Became recognized as a specialist in this subject by paleo-anthropologists throughout the world. Copies of these paintings are still on      display in public and university museums inCanada,England,Wales, Kenya,Hong Kong, etc.

Creator, popular history book series for children, “The Everyday Life of…” 16 volumes, Macdonald Educational Ltd., multiple editions, 1985 (American editions of “History of Every-day Things” and “A History of Every-day Life” have been officially adopted in the Social Studies curriculum of many secondary schools in the US).

Lecturer, ‘Methods of Teaching History’, to secondary school teachers,Italy & abroad. Published several essays on this subject in specialized journals.

Speaker, International Symposium on Rescue Archaeology,San Sebastian,    Spain. Presented a lecture on The Popularisation of Archaeology, 1992

Identified, explored and mapped the entire route of Archbishop Sigeric fromCanterbury toRome (AD 992) known as “Via Romea Francigena”.

Published the first guidebook to this route Via Romea, Cammino di Dio, Giunti,Florence 1990, having written several articles for specialized magazines and journals from 1985

Author & Photographer, “Cultural Guide to the Alps”, George Philip ofLondon,

Walked the entire alpine chain fromArles,Provence toSaltzburg, Austria.

Created a unique photographic record of the state of alpine culture in 1986

Was personal Guide to His Royal Highness Prince Charles during his first visit toTuscany, Explored Montepulciano and Pienza, 1986.

LeftBrighton,England, 1987. Passed book packaging business and clients to apprentices and colleagues.

Explored in full, and recorded in detail, theRoman Road known as “Appian Way” fromRome toBrindisi in 1989, the first archaeologist to carry out such a survey since 1777.

Egyptian exploration along the Nile, traveled3000 miles fromCairo toAbu Simbel, obtained an extensive photographic record. Produced four books and a CD-ROM for British, French and Italian publishers. “A Traveler’s Guide to the Nile”, written in English (published in Italy and the Netherlands) had the official approval of the Department of Egyptian Antiquities of the British Museum and of the American University of Cairo, 1989.

Wrote and illustrated (with own photographs) a “Cultural Guide to the River Loire” Casterman Publishing, Paris, 1990. Well reviewed in the French press, multiple editions in several languages.

Member of an International Scientific Expedition Team, Xinjiang (China), by invitation of the Dept. of Geography,University ofUrumqi. Crossed the Lop Nor andTaklamakan Deserts, surveyed the cities and oases of the Southern Silk Road, from Miran to Kashgar and up theKarakoram Highway tolake Karakol, in August 1990.

Surveyed the Vlak or Wallach shepherds of the Pindus Mountains,Greece. Found striking parallels between these and the Uighur shepherds of the Takla-makandesert ofChina. This realization initiated a line of research, which led to a number of postulations on the origins of modern European culture, 1992.

Consultant of Giunti Publishing Group,Florence. Trained Italians as illustrators, editors and designers, 1992. Studios inFlorence now produce illustrated books and CD ROMs for the international market.

Wrote the first complete “Guide to the Ancient Roman Roads ofItaly”, De Agostini Publisher. The first such guide to appear in Italian. A great academic and commercial success, it received many reviews in the national press, 1994.

Honorary Member of the Board, Cultural Consultant in Residence, Visiting Lecturer in Anthropology, and Chairman of the Committee for the Rural Open-Air Museum,      studiedCentral Asia and worked at the Mediterranean Institute, from Jan. 1995. Lectured on his original research, The Ethnoarchaeologist at Work , Departments of Archaeology andAnthropology,Malta University 1998-2000.

Published (wrote & illustrated) the following books: “In Search of Pompeii”, “In Search of Tutankhamun”, “In Search of Knossos”, “In Search of Troy”, Franklyn Watts Publisher, London, 1999. These books have editions in several languages.

Retired to the Casentino Valley, Tuscany, Italy, 2000 (direct ancestors are recorded since 1384). Lectures on local history and archaeology, and on the foundations of European Medieval Culture to educators, under a EU contract. Technical College, 2001-2003, while continuing study of the history and archaeology of the Casentino & the history of local Feudal Lords, the Counts Guidi and their Castles.

Host of a weekly local television program on Channel 102, Subbiano, presenting discoveries of the Casentino from 2002 to 2005.

Consultant for traditional recipes and for the history of cooking inTuscany with 'La Dispensa', a food producer and packaging firm, Strada, Casentino.

Lecturer, the “History of Italian Cuisine”, the Lorenzo de Medici Institute for foreign students ofFlorence, 2004 & 2005.

Currently writing an autobiographical account of his research on the origins of modern European culture at the request of journalist Stefano Malatesta of La Repubblica, Neri Pozza Editore,Vicenza.

Curator of the Filippo De Filippi Archive, specifically the explorer’s correspondence with British explorer Sir Aurel Stein and his wife’s correspondence with British          and American personalities of the time (1880’s to 1938), Rome.
